Manage app settings in Admin Center

This article is only applicable to admins with relevant permissions.
You can configure settings for apps in Admin Center to add logos and icons, manage when your apps will update and manage an app’s device permissions.
When you add an app to Admin Center for the first time, you will be prompted to set the details, visuals, update and permissions settings for that app. Admins will receive an email and a notification in Admin Center to ensure the correct permissions and settings are set. You can change these settings via the Manage apps page.
Add logos and icons to private apps on your organization's Meta Quest devices
You can upload logos and icons to private apps in Admin Center. You cannot do this for any third-party apps available in Admin Center.
App logos are shown in-headset for people using a Meta Quest device. Icons are used when showing the app on Admin Center.
This will also add the logos and icons to Meta Quest devices with these apps.
Add a logo or icon to a private app
You can upload logos and icons to Meta hosted or externally hosted apps in Admin Center. You cannot do this for any Meta Horizon Store apps available in Admin Center.

You can add an app logo or icon to a Meta hosted app when you first add it to Admin Center.
To add an app logo or icon to an app that’s already added:
- Click
Apps & Content in the left menu of Admin Center.
- In
Manage apps, click
Options to the right of the app, then select Manage app.
- Click Visuals.
- Drag and drop your icon or logo into the relevant box, or choose a file on your device to upload.
- Click Confirm.
App logos should have a transparent background and be a minimum of 360x360px and a maximum of 9000x1440px as a 32-bit PNG.
App icons should have a 1:1 aspect ratio and be 512x512px as a 32-bit PNG.
Logos and icons should also follow Meta Quest Store asset design guidelines.
Edit update settings for apps in Admin Center
- Click
Apps & Content in the left menu of Admin Center.
- Under
Manage apps, click the name of the app you’d like to edit then click Manage app.
- Alternatively, click
More options to the right of the app, then select Manage App.
- Alternatively, click
- Under the Settings tab click App update priority.
- For Meta hosted and Meta Horizon Store apps, you can select from:
- Automatic updates: Update the app on your device as soon as an update is available.
- Postpone updates for 90 days: Delay updates to apps for 90 days after the update becomes available.
- Manually update: Turn off automatic updates and control updates manually from your app settings.
- For externally hosted apps, you can select from:
- Critical: This will force app updates immediately, even if other update settings are in place.
- Automatic: This will allow the app to update on the device as soon as a new version becomes available.
- When you’ve finished selecting your settings, click Save.
Edit permissions settings for apps in Admin Center
As an admin, you can control which apps on your managed devices have access to features like the microphone, nearby devices, spatial data, and storage.
- Click
Apps & Content in the left menu of Admin Center.
- Under
Manage apps, click the name of the app you’d like to edit then click Manage app.
- Alternatively, click
More options to the right of the app, then select Manage App.
- Alternatively, click
- Under the Settings tab, click App permissions you can select the permission you require for each feature.
- User prompt: This will ask the user to allow or deny the app’s permission to the specified feature when it is required for use.
- Auto grant: This will automatically grant permissions to the specified feature for this app.
- Auto deny: This will automatically deny permissions to the specified feature for this app.
- Click Save to confirm your changes.
Note: For apps that do not require these permissions, no permissions settings will display. If permissions are required for use at a later time, then you’ll be notified with an email and in-platform notification.
