Eligibility for Meta for Education
This article is only applicable to admins with relevant permissions.
To qualify for Meta for Education, an organization or program must demonstrate that it meets the following definition (“Educational Institution”): 1) a public or private educational organization, including vocational schools, correspondence schools, junior colleges, colleges, universities, or scientific or technical schools, serving students ages thirteen and older; OR 2) an education-adjacent program, including after school programs, tutoring centers, continued education programs, and government-run programs focused on learning, serving students ages thirteen and older.
All determinations are within Meta’s sole discretion and all decisions are final. Meta reserves the right to periodically require re-verification and to request additional verification information.
The way your organization is verified for Meta for Education eligibility depends on whether you’re subscribing to Meta Horizon managed services directly or using a reseller.
What happens if your organization’s eligibility for Meta for Education is not verified
Your organization’s eligibility for Meta for Education needs to be verified within 1 month after signing up.
1 day after the verification period ends, you will lose access to managed devices. 90 days after the verification period ends, your organization’s subscription will be cancelled, you will lose access to Admin Center and devices will be wiped and released from Admin Center management.
Verifying eligibility for Meta for Education if you’re subscribing directly
- Click Verify your organization at the top of the Admin Center homepage.
- Click Contact support.
- You can also click the link to verify your organization from the email that was sent to you when you signed up.
- Fill in the form. This includes:
- The name of your organization or program
- The country your organization is domiciled in
- Your organization’s website
- (Optional) Any additional documentation such as an accreditation certificate, catalog or curriculum information.
- Click Submit
If your organization’s eligibility is verified by customer support then you will receive confirmation via your support ticket in Admin Center, as a notification in Admin Center and a confirmation via email.
Verifying eligibility for Meta for Education if you’re using a reseller
If you’re using a reseller to manage your subscription to managed services, then the reseller needs to verify your organization’s eligibility for Meta for Education.
When you signed up, if you chose Subscribe through a reseller then you will have shared an activation code with your reseller. At this point, the reseller will verify your organization for Meta for Education.
If you chose Subscribe with Meta directly when signing up, you can still connect to a reseller in Admin Center. To do this:
- Click Verify your organization at the top of the Admin Center homepage.
- Click Get activation code in the With a reseller box.
- Read and agree to the terms, then click Generate code.
- Share this code with your reseller.
When you have done this, the reseller can verify your organization for Meta for Education.
