Start or end a cast from a Meta Quest for Business device to a web browser

You can share a real-time view of what you’re seeing in your Meta Quest for Business headset to a web browser, provided that your admin has not disabled this feature.
You can do this from your own device in Individual Mode or a Shared Mode device.
Start a cast from a headset
  1. On your headset, press Meta button for VR headset controllers / oculus icon on your right Touch controller to pull up your universal menu.
  2. Hover over the clock on the left side of your universal menu. When Quick Settings appears, select it to open the Quick Settings panel.
    • Alternatively, you can open the app you want to cast. If you’re using an Individual Mode device, you can also open the camera app.
  3. Select Cast.
  4. Make sure Computer is selected, then select Next.
    • If your headset’s microphone is on when you cast to a computer, your mic audio will be included.
  5. Make a note of the URL and code you’re shown in the headset.
    • If you want people other than yourself to view the cast, then you will need to share the URL and code so people can watch it. A maximum of 15 people can view your cast at the same time.
  6. In your headset, press OK.
    • If you’re using an Individual Mode device, then you can also press Send a link to my email. If you do this, then you’ll be able to join your cast from an email that will be sent to the email address associated with your managed Meta account.
  7. In your web browser, go to the URL that was shown in your headset.
  8. Enter the code that was shown in your headset.
    • If you’re using an Individual Mode device, then alternatively you can click View my cast to log into the website and view your cast using the managed Meta account you’re using on your headset.
You can check how many people are viewing your cast either in your headset or in the web browser.
Note: Across your organization, multiple casts can take place at the same time provided that they’re not from the same managed Meta account.
End your cast
  1. In your headset, select You are now casting at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select Stop casting.
Cast sessions can also end when:
  • The device turns off, restarts or goes to sleep.
  • The device disconnects from Wi-Fi.
  • The session has had no active viewers for more than 30 minutes.
  • The headset wearer logs out of their account on their headset.
When a cast session ends, the code to watch the cast expires.
