Select a single-app experience for Meta Quest for Business devices in Shared Mode
This article is only applicable to admins with relevant permissions.
You can choose a single app for use for devices in Shared Mode. You do this for either:
- Devices configured independently in Shared Mode, so that this setting is applied to this device only
- Shared Mode device presets, so that this setting is applied to all devices assigned to this device preset
If you select a single-app experience, then your chosen app will launch immediately after people have completed session intro steps. This could be useful for in-VR demos and demonstrations.
An app needs to have been assigned to the device or device preset before you can select a single-app experience.
To select a single-app experience:
- Click Devices in the left menu of Admin Center.
- Then:
- If you’re turning on single-app experience for a device configured independently in Shared Mode, then click the name of the device.
- If you’re turning on single-app experience for a Shared Mode device preset, then click Device presets in the left menu and then click the name of the device preset.
- Click the Device experience tab.
- Click Single-app experience.
- Click the toggle to the right of Launch selected app automatically.
- You’ll be prompted to assign an app to the device or device preset if no apps have been assigned yet.
- Select your chosen app from the dropdown, then click Save.
Any previously available apps on the affected device(s) will no longer be available.

Note: People will not be able to open other apps from within the app selected for the single-app experience. This means that if the app you’ve chosen includes links to other apps, then these will not open in single-app experience.
