Change security settings for Meta Quest devices in Admin Center

Admins can only change security settings for Meta Quest devices that are managed in Admin Center. Admins cannot change security settings for Meta Quest devices that are managed by a third-party device manager.
You can edit device security settings for Meta Quest for Business devices in Admin Center. If a device is configured independently, then you change its security settings on a device-by-device basis. If a device is configured by a device profile, then you make changes to the device profile. A device profile’s security settings are applied to all devices configured to this profile.

  • Passcode: Choose whether a passcode is required to unlock devices. If a device in Shared Mode does not use a passcode, then sessions on the device will end if there’s no activity for more than 5 minutes.
  • USB debugging: Choose whether to disable all debugging features, including USB debugging.
  • System update policy: Choose how and when you want system updates to be installed on devices. Options include:
    • None: People in your organization can choose when to install system updates on their device.
    • Automatic: System updates are installed as soon as they’re available.
    • Windowed: System updates are installed during a daily maintenance window. If you choose this option, then you can set the start and end times.
    • Postpone: System updates are installed 30 days after they become available.
  • Installation of apps from unknown sources (for Individual Mode devices or device profiles only): Choose whether to allow the installation of apps from sources other than the Meta Quest Store. Apps from the Android Debug Bridge and trusted app stores are excluded.
  • Admin passcode (for Shared Mode devices or device profiles only): You need to create a 4-6 digit passcode if you choose to limit access to Wi-Fi, boundary and USB debugging settings on Shared Mode devices.
