Difference between Individual Mode and Shared Mode for organization-managed devices in Admin Center

Admins with relevant permissions in Admin Center can configure organization-managed Meta Quest devices in Shared Mode or Individual Mode.
Individual Mode is intended for devices that are used by 1 person in your organization. A device in Individual Mode is assigned 1 managed Meta account to use the device. The person using the device will need to set up a Meta Horizon profile when they first log into the device.
Shared Mode is intended for organization-managed devices that are used by multiple people. Admins can choose whether an account is required to use the device. If a Shared Mode device requires login, then the person who first logs into the device with a managed Meta account will need to set up a Meta Horizon profile for that account.
Age requirements
- To use an Individual Mode device or a Shared Mode device that requires an account, people have to be 18 years of age or older (depending on the age of legal majority where you reside).
- To use a Shared Mode device that does not require an account, people have to be 13 years of age or older (subject to applicable legal requirements where you reside).

Configuring devices
Admins can configure devices in Individual Mode or Shared Mode independently or by using a device preset or device group.
There are some default apps on Individual Mode devices. These are required for the device to be functional. Admins can also assign required and available apps, as well as files, to Individual Mode devices, as well as choose to allow or disallow Meta AI, social features, personal accounts and casting. Learn more about managing device permissions.
People using a Shared Mode device can only use apps that have been assigned. Admins can also assign files and choose to allow or disallow casting.
