Offline mode is available for Shared Mode and can be used on independently configured devices or via a Shared Mode device preset. Offline Mode lets users start a new session even if their device has no internet connection.

To allow offline mode on your device:

  • When creating or editing a Shared Mode device preset, when setting Permissions, you can toggle Allow offline device sessions to enable Offline Mode.
  • Or
  • For an independently configured device, in Managed devices, click on the device’s name.
  • Click the Details tab and then next to Device Permissions.
  • Click the toggle next to Allow offline device sessions and then click Save.
Once allowed, pre-loaded apps can be opened and used without an internet connection. Apps that are not pre-loaded will require an internet connection to update.
Offline devices may not have received all software or settings updates and remote device actions will not be available while in offline mode. Device insights will also only sync when the device is reconnected to the internet. If a device is offline for more than 90 days, a notification will be sent to your organization’s admin.
Note: Offline mode is only available for Shared Mode where people aren’t required to log in.
