Enable or disable Meta AI for Meta Quest for Business devices
Meta AI is only currently available in the United States and Canada.
Meta AI is an intelligent assistant that uses what people say and other data, including contents of images such as objects and texts, to respond to their requests. People can use Meta AI to control their headset hands-free, get answers to questions, stay up to date with real-time information and more.
If you’re an admin, you can enable Meta AI for Meta Quest for Business devices in Individual Mode. You can do this for:
- Devices configured independently, so that the setting is applied to this device only
- Device presets, so that the setting is applied to all devices configured by this device preset
By default, Meta AI is disabled.
The below instructions cover how to enable or disable Meta AI for devices that are managed in Admin Center. If you manage devices with either Ivanti Neurons for MDM or Omnissa Workspace ONE UEM, then you can download and use Meta’s OEMConfigs APK to manage Meta AI access.

How data is used when people use Meta AI on their Meta Quest for Business device
- Voice data: Meta processes what the person says and may use Meta AI to complete their requests. When the person makes a request, their voice will be recorded, transcribed and processed as explained in our privacy notice.
- Your image data: When a person asks Meta AI about what they see, an image will be taken and processed with AI on Meta’s servers. Processing with AI includes the contents of the person’s images such as objects, points of interest and text. Meta AI may use this information to understand the person’s location and provide them with a more relevant response. Using the camera is optional. Learn more about how images are used.
- How data is used: Voice transcripts, images processed with AI and related data will all be collected, used and stored according to Meta’s Privacy Policy, including to improve Meta products with help from trained reviewers and to train AI models. A person’s data may be shared with trusted partners to help complete their prompts.
- How people can control their data: Meta AI only uses a person’s voice or takes an image when they say a prompt. People can turn off camera use, delete Meta AI interactions or disable Meta AI anytime in settings.
